"Showing A Leg At Seascale"

"Showing A Leg At Seascale"
My mother's trip to the Lake District in England. 1936. She is 11 or 12 years old and on the end at far left.
Written on the back:
Few of party with Miss Hubbard in sea at Seascale

Linuxica Jenesis, elinor04 (Nóra Mészöly), ReiRoWi have particularly liked this photo

Isn't it strange that these girls ate a full cooked breakfast with toast, had "elevensies," ate a full cooked lunch with a dessert, had a four o' clock tea, with bread and butter, scones and cake, often had a light supper before bedtime - and yet virtually no-one is overweight!

they walked everywhere, hardly anyone had a bicycle, let alone a car, they did a lot of sport and of course they helped their mothers in the household (with virtually no machinery) or on the land or in the shop..
overweight didn´t have time to settle!
