Reg And Friends - Brought Forward To Share A Very Cool Story

Reg And Friends - Brought Forward To Share A Very Cool Story
See comments following this one, for story.

"Reg and Friends"
This (and the next three photos) is a photo of Reg Murray, my mother's friend, who was stationed in Plymouth, as she was, for awhile during the war. (Reg is the one on the left.)
He was from a town near Liverpool called Widnes.
This was taken in January 1946.
His sister contacted my mother not long after this, to tell her that he had died of TB, which my mother tells me was rampant during the war.

I've corrected information on this and the following photos of Reg Murray, after - amazingly - hearing from his son (also) Reg Murray!!
My mother was so moved to hear that his son was in contact with me after seeing these photos - and happy to be able to tell Reg a few things about his lovely Dad - who died several months before Reg was born.
See following message from his son.

This is a picture of my father he was serving on HMS Berry Head at the same time as your mother, he was born and lived in Widnes where he married my mother at St Bede's Church, he was 22 years of age when he died in June 1948.

Thanks, Jessie. It was very moving to hear stories from my mother and to pass them on. He sounded like an incredibly gentle, sweet soul.
