I don't know exactly, the French countryside can be pretty empty, while other parts are full of holiday homes. Villages full of people with shops and markets as you can see on old pictures are not as common as they were. This church was still in use. It was open for visitors.

The main building is most satisfying to look at, but oh dear that spire is so odd to my eye.

From my own limited experience (we have only lived here since June 2013) of rural France,which is vast compared to the urban areas, the churches are still well attended but sadly not as well as say 20 years ago.

One wonderful feature is that they are always open, unlike in England where they are locked for fear of theft which is a savage indictment of the moral decline of English society.
