Tom Connolly riding

Tom Connolly riding
Grisaille pastel by Robert Healy, made in 1768. Healy was payed £171/11/9 in five payments for nine pastels, so about £19/1/5½ for every pastel. This is a replica of course, bought in Castletown House, Ireland, where the Connolly family lived. I finally got round to send it to the framer.

I forgot every Saturday to go to a framer and because I never had something framed, I was a bit apprehensive. Luckily there are more than a few in Leiden and all in close proximity of my house. Now I also sent a large replica map of 1940 of the city of Leipzig to the framer. The frame is far more expensive than the map (which only cost €5). I think things look better in a special frame as opposed to one of those generic frames you can buy.
