I wouldn't go so far as to say that.

You'd be right not to. Nasty is nearly 90 miles from Jericho, with no bus service covering the final stretch, with not enough to see or photograph to justify so epic a journey.

Bet they don't have cottages like this in Nice.

No, nor in Cannes or Monte Carlo.

Cottage doesn't come in cans, though sometimes in pies.

Cannes I said. You have a tin ear.

What's happened to your inerring eye for the bogus, the artificial and the Shepperton?

If there is an artificial sky, you've done it very nicely.

In this shot there isn't one. Apart from a "For Sale" sign and a few pieces of litter which I've removed from the house and front garden, it's 'as was'.

So it was a trick question then? Because I couldn't find anything amiss.

No, because I wasn't referring to this picture specifically, more to others among my more recent ones.

I just tried to book for another photo "course", this one in the New Forest at the beginning of next month, but there's no availability. As well, because I've since looked at a hundred or more New Forest pictures online, and it actually looks a bit boring. Even the better shots of Autumn colour, sunsets, water etc. could have been taken in woods or open spaces anywhere.

Try Westonbirt Arboretum.

Thanks for the information. It's somewhere I've never been or, as far as I can recall, hadn't until now even heard of. But although it has many big and colourful trees, it's looks very much the parkland arboretum it is, not a natural wood or forest, and hence isn't particularly picturesque. And the fact that admission in Autumn is by pre-booked ticket and time slot only, suggests that it gets very crowded. Photo wise I'd do at least as well in Burnham Beeches, despite the fact that I've been there dozens of times over the years.

I didn't know about the booking. I simply recall it as the place where my parents did their courting.

In full view of their daughter, I say!

Did they eventually marry?

Much to my father's regret.

Talking of 'as was', we haven't heard from John Lawrence lately. I hope he's okay.
