Strange how the sun strikes the car from the opposite side. Must be climate change.

Or it could be reflected sunlight from a white building or plate glass window out of frame.

Whatever it is, parked cars are an eyesore on the street.
I'm surprised you didn't remove it, like you did the yellow lines.

Yes, they generally are an eyesore, but a British classic vehicle is allowable as part of a traditional picture-postcard scene. In this case there was nothing parked on that stretch of street. Nor was (is) there a church tower in the background. The additions aren't 100% convincing, but they make a picture out of a street scene which on its own was insufficiently interesting.

They don't, though.

You're right. The original (below) is a much more interesting picture. Or would you like even more featureless tarmac and sky?

I don't like either shot. I was referring to your idea that the additions "make a picture".

I agree that neither version is great, but I wanted to record the fact that I've been to Puckeridge (especially having made a special detour), and the embellishments do make it more interesting-looking, enough at least to justify uploading the shot, which is as good as it's possible to get.

The sky is better on the original (minus the white streak), because it fits the lighting better.
Your Shepperton skies so often clash with the general ambience, as here..

That is definitely the best of the three, but needs a crop on the right-hand edge to get rid of that bright rectangle and ugly shadow, compensated by a little extra pub on the left.

And, of course, a swan in the middle of the road would make it more interesting.

This is Puckeridge, not Swanage, but here you are. Happy?

I see that a passing swan has now settled in the street, along with a patch of dry grass.
The villagers might soon be enjoying a free dinner if spontaneous combustion occurs.
