Thanks, but although I both survived and enjoyed the trip (I got back yesterday) the pictures are a little disappointing and few - I've others yet to edit and upload, but will have, in total, a dozen at most.

This is well composed, with authentic-looking colours, and definitely the one that made it worth going. I'm glad you enjoyed the trip, but I think you should be less hesitant about using your camera. If you take loads of snaps as well as the more considered ones, you're bound to strike lucky with some of them. I'm a great believer in the art of serendipity!

I took hundreds, for that very reason. When touring with a group (and having a terror of getting separated from it and left behind) there's limited time for consideration. But because the weather generally was dry, dusty and hazy, and also because Indian towns and villages, even the more picturesque ones, are so heavily festooned with eyesores (cables, masts, concrete, plastic signs, vehicles and litter everywhere) very few of those pictures are usable.
