I've just had a new passport photo taken. It's about as flattering as a photograph can be, but pretty awful and depressing nonetheless.

Dare I make any comment about that? I'm reluctant to give any opinions when you have a habit of altering the question after I've responded. All I can suggest is that you grow a beard.

But how is a beard going to help? Even if it hides my sagging jowls and double chin, on balance (my hair being grey) I'd look even older. And I hate having hair round my mouth, which food sticks to.

I grew one during lockdown and looked like Snow White.

My Covid mask does a better job of hiding my face, but for the passport photograph they made me take it off.
