Mute but Speaking Volumes - 25 May 2015

25 May 2015 95
Do we ever tire of pictures of swans? They are beautiful and elegant (as well as, potentially, rather temperamental) and each new sighting lifts the heart. This Mute Swan had just set out from the Clayhall Road side of Stoke Lake, Gosport. Just to ward off any teasing about my title, the Mute Swan is not actually silent but lacks some of the sounds of other swans. 200_2_P1040884

Peony Portrait - 27 May 2015

27 May 2015 98
Macro is one of my photographic weaknesses so I keep practicing. We all have our favourite flowers; the peony is one of mine, powerfully beautiful, robust and delicate at the same time. TZ30_P1020847

Hatton Cross Horses (3) - 6 June 2015

06 Jun 2015 147
In a field more or less under the approach to 27L at Heathrow and near the Myrtle Avenue viewing area, live several horses. This pair were caught in some sort of act of affection or grooming. Being stuck in a field on a busy road and subjected to aircraft noise for half the day probably is not what horses dream of. 200_2_P1050060

The Geese of Akaroa (5) - 28 February 2015

28 Feb 2015 123
I like geese and I look forward to seeing new birds when I travel so I was a bit deflated when the geese I saw grazing on and paddling towards the shore at Akaroa were Canada Geese. The Canada Goose is an introduced species on New Zealand's South Island and is there in large numbers. 200_2_P1030874C
