Hunter WV381 - 22 August 2020
Hawker Hunter WV381 entered service with the Royal Air Force as an F.4 but was later converted to a GA.11 for the Royal Navy. It was in Navy service that the aircraft left the then RNAS via the fence, crossing the road to end up in the sea after the pilot had ejected in response to an ASI failure.
The nose section was stored and then restored at RAF Benson before later arriving at the Hovercraft Museum, Lee on Solent where it is displayed only yards from the site of its 1972 accident.
