Plus ça change...:-) I grew up with the earlier, less glamourous, but as affective and quiet versions of these jere babies. We called them trolleybuses.

Not really D. These are genuine electric buses which are charged, primarily, at the depot overnight. During (pauses in) operation, the pantograph is raised to charge from the overhead used by the city's trams. The buses themselves do not run off the wires.
