Long live the Monarch!

Long live the Monarch!
First time in two years that I've seen a butterfly, so was excited to spot three flitting about at Bluffer's Park. I now have a new found appreciation for those of you who shoot lots of butterflies... www.ipernity.com/doc/pamj ...these guys are fast! Think I'll stick to slow moving birds.

Robert Wilson, Mitch Seaver, Don Sutherland, Pam J have particularly liked this photo

My second choice for the main shot, but I liked the spread wings better.

Try to picture an old, bald guy creeping up to try to get an underneath shot.

'Warp speed Captain!' Loved the bokeh on this one.

A really lovely series, Jim. Well done!
I don't if it's me but I feel I'm seeing much more butterflies this year than in previous years.

BRILLIANT series !!

You have done a brilliant series Jim !

Do you follow the Monarchs .. I do.. and you can post where you see them

I am so hoping they will come through here again on their way back to Mexico. Its usually end Sept to mid Oct.

It takes 5 generations for them to leave and come back to their roosting grounds in Mexico. It is a truly amazing migration each year !

Will check the site out later. As I said to Levina, these were last years shots and yet to see any this year.
