Lizzie Shephard

In 1955, Mrs. Lizzie Sheppard, brought a white supremacist to court. Her charge was that the assailant (Rev. Elbert D. Riddick), struck her with a rake when she refused to get off the sidewalk in front of his home. She was 5 1/2 months pregnant at the time.
