Went to Cornwall in one of these one holiday; a friends car, he was and still is, a classic Jaguar junkie! The ride was incredibly smooth! I was driving Alfa Romeos at that time and the contrast between the jag and the throaty Alfa 164, couldn't have been more marked but both rides were terrific in their own way!!

When I was 10 years old, I made a round trip in a car like this, in the MK I version, from Luanda to Malange, in Angola, with a cousin of mine who was a doctor on a visit to a leper village in the confines of the African jungle. I will never forget that trip both for what I saw in the village and for the car that took me. A high-end sofa...with wheels.
