The Invincible class was a class of light aircraft carrier operated by the Royal Navy. Three ships were constructed: HMS Invincible, HMS Illustrious and HMS Ark Royal.

All three have been scrapped.

Thanks ~ If you mean the cruise liner I totally agree, if you mean the aircraft carrier then it is not so big really, although it is quite a tight fit as she sails in and out of port. :) Hanwe and best wishes

At this angle the aircraft carrier seems to have a clock tower on its deck.

Hi dearest LGM, no dockyard would work without a clock or two, how else would they know when it was time to call all out. Portsmouth used to be a mass of bicycles at 1600hrs :)

I wish you and Adrian a rewarding weekend ~~~

Always sad when a ship gets scrapped, especially when it looks as though it would still be serviceable! :o(

Nick Weall club has replied to Andy Rodker club
Hi Andy

They were well past what is necessary these days, so scrapping was the only solution
