So do I Nick...it´s a soft and wonderful contrast to the field...I like the fence leaving into nowhere :)
HFF....enjoy your upcoming weekend!

Good, I'm glad that you also like this view Tanja ~ The fence seems to keep the sheep in their field, so it must lead down the hill to the other fence (Of course I have inside knowledge) ~~~ Hanwe

Hi Peter, this picture doesn't really do the rolling hills justice they are much more beautiful in real life ~ peaceful though it certainly is.

All the best ~~~ Nick

It is, Nick. I went walking not that far from here (The Deverills) with a history group from uni. We were looking for Egbert's Stone, where Alred rallied the troops before defeating the Danes at the Battle of Eddington (A long story; I can tell you more if you are interested). We found it in the churchard at Kingston Deverill (hence the name, probably) but it seems it had been on the top of the hill at one time as a dolmen. It was probably already in the valley by Alfred's time as he needed to rally his troops in secret. Egbert was his grandfather and a Bretwalda.
Here endeth the (history) lesson!

I think that we have touched upon this subject years ago on Pano Andy. I lived in Heytesbury for a couple years many moons ago, and would drive through the Deverills on my way to Shaftesbury

This landscape reminds me to the hills I have seen 1989 in Dorset:
