MV Boudicca sets sail for Normandy carrying 300 veterans
June 5th and the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of the D day landings is in full swing. We had had the Queen and Donald Trump drop in by helicopter earlier int the day and later a display by the Red Arrows

Nouchetdu38, Alan Drury, Gudrun, and 6 other people have particularly liked this photo

I'm so pleased, although not surprised, that you mad your way down to Portsmouth today. We have been watching it on the BBC for 7 - 8 p.m., and now on the main news. What a day full of memories for the few that are left.

I had hoped you would be there Nick and show some pic's of the day. A great event and like Amelia, I was watching a lot of it on TV. It was quite clear that the veterans have never forgotten their lost comrades. I have to admit to shedding a few tears. There were not many families back then who had not lost someone in the war, including my own. Have you been watching The Blitz: Britain on Fire, on CH5?

I saw some of the veterans, all going for the 100 years. They were very noble.
