Hi Steve ,
Your visit is much appreciated. Thank you!
I'm pleased that you have enjoyed it!
The blockage is down the river at Jordans Mill (which you know). If they opened the sluice gates there the level of this would drop (but no doubt cause a flood somewhere else!
Best Wishes, and keep safe!!

Looks like here, Peter ! We wanted to take a walk along our small river this afternoon. No chance ! The meadows round this little village have changed to an enormous lake !

My dear Peter,

Two different pictures here. It is getting to high and looks like a lake now.
Interesting capture!

This is unusual for England, the public footpath runs through somebody's garden. You can walk there, but you must stick to the path.
Best Wishes, and keep safe!!

A fine composition Peter and a great picture telling the tale of conditions in all too many parts of the country. Our local valley (Forge Valley) has experienced similar conditions in the past few weeks. Fortunately we live well above the river but those living lower down have had problems in the past.

Enjoy your evening

It seems the mill is high enough not to suffer from the flooding. Lovely reflections in the water!

Hi Gudrun,
Your visit is most welcome. Thank you.
Glad you like it.
Of course you are right, it was a water powered mill, and as always the height of the inlet, typically a couple of metres above the outlet. Here the level is around 1 metre higher than normal. (See hyperlink above)
Best Wishes, and keep safe!!
