Hi Marie-claire,

Thank you so much for your very quick visit to Kinchley Lane on our Great Central Railway. A very popular spot of photographers, but not so many on that January day!!
Of course this is exactly how train travel used to be, right down to the dirty locomotive!

Best Wishes

Hello Peter a lovely shot here and looking somewhat more authentic than when the engine is polished to within an inch of its life as seems to be the norm these days

Best wishes .. Steve

Hi Steve,

Thank you for your very quick visit too. Of course you will know this from Pano, in January 2015. As I seem to remember, being dirty was a theme of the day!!
Just reading the Pano conversations, I had lost the sun a few moments before the train arrived..

My Dear Füsun,

Thank you for the very much appreciated star! Your visits always make me very happy!! Maybe you should start another 'Mad Pomegranate' group!!
You are right, this locomotive used to be a bright red colour, but today it is dirty black!

Love Peter

Hi Alan,

Thank you for your visit here, and the very kind awards. This was from January 2015. Steve was going to come along, but couldn't make it. Unfortunately it was a bit if a dull day, with a bit of snow in the morning, but at least we get some exhaust!

Best Wishes

What a great image. I can't see anything there that "dates" the shot, could easily be the 1950s/60s. Nice to see the whole train looking "used", the cleanest thing there is the exhaust. The class 2 lamp looks authentic too, makes me think the train is stopping absolutely everywhere, with very few passengers. I hope Dr Beeching isn't watching this one.
Very classy shot, well done.
