Another re-post, this time one more shot from 2011.
View towards the expansive beach at Perranporth (in the far distance!).
A fire in July 2017 sadly destroyed the vegetation on The Beacon. But it will recover in a few years.

H. A. N. W. E. everyone!
The spire of Truro Cathedral can be seen.
Victoria Square; normally a busy town centre but, as I was waiting for the bus to take me back to my car at the park and ride, I suddenly noticed that a providential traffic lights arrangement had made the traffic vanish, so I whipped out my ... mobile phone!

As of Sunday, I moved to my sister's home here in Algete, 40 km northeast of Madrid and with great views of the Sierra de Guadarrama. In the centre of the skyline is the craggy outline of La Sierra de La Cabrera, a favourite walking and scrambling area. At the bottom of the shot is the hen coop. Lovely fresh eggs for breakfast!

The highest peak of the Sierra de Guadarrama, Peñalara, can be seen on the horizon to the right. Mid picture is the disused railway line that goes under the Sierra from where I took this photo and which I walked through a few years ago. Before Covid, there were plans to re-open the line, which only closed 8 years ago. I recall the trains.
HFF everyone!

Madrid's obelisk memorial to its war dead. Not far from the Museo del Prado.
It was taken on November 11th, last year but not at 11 am!
(Perhaps better on full screen).
Cistus, jara, or rock rose (best on full screen).

In the Sierra de La Cabrera.
Two varieties seen here. I like both the blowsier pure-white petal one and the more compact carmine-flecked one.
A favourite tree.
