Old photos and ones that I can't think where best to file!
Photos taken before I took a 33 year break from taking any photos at all!
That was the original idea of this album - I now include others that I could and do possibly file in new albums.

Accidental shot on the Madrid metro. But I was pleased that I had polished my shoes that morning!
It's like your Mum making sure you always had clean underwear on 'because, you never know, you might be hit by a bus'!!!!

Sorry about this HFF shot two days early but my plans are too fluid to know whether I'll be on-line on Friday or not!
This was taken on April 25, 2016 as the town was preparing for it's bull feria..
Roman road between Zarzalejo and El Escorial

Only a few sections haven't seen the paving stones uprooted and used for building walls and farm buildings. This is one such section. On the ground, this road is not at all a straight line. From the air and on the map it is a typical straight Roman road!
The red and white waymark is for the GR10, the long distance walk from Valencia to Lisbon - or Lisbon to Valencia if you prefer. This is recent. I was surprised to see it here as previously, the GR10 passed many kilometres further north, through the centre of the Sierra de La Guadarrama. Perhaps they will be alternating the routes every couple of decades or so in order to give the paths a rest!
If so, it is a good idea (although I am told that the GR10 is not much used and I must say that on my many walks using fragments of the GR10, I have never seen any long-distance walkers!)

A bit of a shock to open the curtains this morning and see this directly outside the bedroom window!
(Essential repairs to the spire, apparently!).

Dawn, August 2014. St Day, Cornwall.
Well, it's still my bedroom window even if I haven't spent more than 10 nights here in the past 5 years!
The building in front is the annexe to my parents house. It comprises a good sized ground floor kitchen and on the upper floor bedrooms and a bathroom. This annexe used to be a temporary bedding down place for tin miners who had worked a late shift; the property being in the possession of a tin mine captain.
Poldice Valley seen in the distance and with a chimney just visible, was a world centre of arsenic mining and production. Even today, 150 years later , nothing grows there and certainly no houses can be be built on the poisoned land. The life expectancy of the miners was horrendous! Not all Cornwall is romantic!!!
My final comment on what Google did to Panoramio!

Without my notes to this shot, stolen unexpectedly by Google, I'm afraid I no longer have the details of the artist and related info. Very sorry and not a little bit annoyed!
UPDATE on 11/04/18: Thanks to ipernity member, Jim Kerslake, I can now name the artist and the piece:

Many thanks, Jim!

I stayed here in this converted Provencal farmhouse in my teenage summer holidays (a very fortunate school exchange programme!). I was very lucky!
