A very early pioneering rock climb follows the line of the ridge you see here silhouetted against the sea.

This has been a favourite place all my life! I must have explored every nook and cranny at one time or another!

An excellent rock climbing sea cliff with climbs to suit all grades from the relatively easy (my level) to the relatively challenging (not my level!).

Visible from here is the grassy ledge that runs along the face of the cliff and provides an interesting walk and/or a starting point for rock climbs.

You won't find Lion Cub Rock on any map; this is my name for it!

A famous Cornish sea-cliff climbing area. I am on top of the main cliff at Bosigran, looking across to Commando Ridge, a pioneering route first climbed in the 19th century by the Abrahams; sister and brother (not the spiky islet but the jagged headland beyond). I climbed it, and also a few climbs on the main face of Bosigran with the university climbing club, many years ago! For some decades this was an SAS training ground, hence the name of the climb.

They seem to like the acidic soil and the salty air here on the clifftops near Zennor!
They were also ripe a full 6 weeks earlier than in the hedgerows of inland Cornwall. They went into my Mum's sloe gin of course, having waited a while in the freezer (and none the worse for that) for their inland cousins to join them!.

The cutest quoit in Cornwall (there are a few equally cute dolmens in Brittany and elsewhere in Europe).
Neolithic burial chamber; would have originally been buried completely under a mound of smaller stones and earth but 6,000 years of Cornish weather has easily disposed of all that!

I took some terrific shots here but sadly dropped my much lamented Nokia N95 phonecamera in a bog at the end of the day and lost all the many shots I'd taken after a good days shooting. So I had to come back some days later after I bought my Fujifilm Finepix J100 in a Truro pawn shop as a quick replacement. It has been with me ever since!
