The Way to the Zugspitze (5)
Prior to climb the glacier the mountaineers have to cross a large field of rubble, the Höllentalkar. On sunny days it is rather warm here, because the warmed up air rises from below.

Zuvor ist allerdings noch ein großes Geröllfeld, das Höllentarkar, zu queren. Bei sonnigem Bergwetter ist es hier recht heiß, weil die erwärmte Luft den Hang hochsteigt.

Ist es auch. Vor allem darf man nicht schissig sein, sonst rutscht man erst recht aus. (Gefährlich ist das zwar nicht, weil man nicht weit rutscht, aber witzig auch nicht: Denn ohne Schürfwunden kommt man dann nicht davon.) Das Übelste ist für mich immer die Hitze auf solchen Schuttfeldern, die nur noch nachmittags an Südhängen mit Latschenkiefern übertroffen wird. (Die meide ich, wann immer möglich).
