Reconstruction of the 50 years old ropeway from Eibsee (Bavaria, Germany) to the top of the Zugspitze - under continuing operation of the old ropeway . It's not only the highest, but also the most expensive construction site in Gemany.

Nach 50 Betriebsjahren wird die Seilbahn vom Eibsee hoch zur Zugspitze totalsaniert - bei laufendem Betrieb der bestehenden Seilbahn! Es ist wohl nicht nur die höchstgelegene, sondern auch die teueste Baustelle Deutschlands.

Heute gehen wir mit der Natur zum Glück ganz anders um, als früher. Im Allgemeinen jedenfalls. Aber hier auf der Zugspitze wurde schon sehr früh brutalst gesündigt: Der höchste der drei Zugspitz-Gipfel wurde 1938 von den Nazis weggesprengt, weil er einer Radaranlage im Weg stand. Und 1945 war die US-Airforce auch nicht zimperlich, als sie den Gipfel bombardierte. Heute hat nur noch der in Deutschland liegende Ostgipfel, auf dem das goldene Gipfelkreuz steht, seine ursprüngliche Höhe.

...so stellt man sich die einsamen Alpengipfel vor. Auf dem Säntis sieht es ähnlich aus. Dafür kann man auch mit High Heels rauf uns hat vielleicht auch gratis WLAN :-/
