AS EVERY YEAR I EXPLAIN, FLOWERS AND BLOSSOMS ARE NORMAL HERE IN WINTER. OUR "DEAD" SEASON IS SUMMER, TOO HOT FOR FLOWERS EXCEPT THISTLES IN JUNE, AND THEN ALL IS DRY.
SO IT IS NOT SPRING IN ADVANCE BUT WINTER WITH ITS FLOWERS AND BLOSSOMS IN DUE TIME !

Always good to see Almond blossom. Normally we often spend some time in Spain or Portugal at this time of the year and always look forward to seeing these beautiful trees.

A lovely series of images Isabel, there are a surprising number of winter flowering trees and shrubs here, it amazes me how some flowers are able to stand frost and snow without any ill effects while a hint of frost will kill others. Some of our big old country houses had walled gardens with flues running though the walls to try and protect early flowing fruit like peaches and apricots, a junior gardener would spend the night keeping the boilers well stoked

We have extreme hot temperatures in summer, but winters are mild. We cannot have all but I miss snow... two weeks contemplating snow and ice on the extreme cold is a change I appreciate, but this year...
