Gerber, et al.

Gerber, et al.
Linkville Pioneer Cemetery, Klamath Falls, Oregon.

Mother, father and child. Some very common names here in the early 20th C. are Campbell, Gerber, Humphrey and Smith. They all married each other and have the most "important" plots and headstones.

Tanja - Loughcrew, Gudrun, Smiley Derleth have particularly liked this photo

Oh, interesting, Leon! There are many German names in this cemetery. My mother told me that the Germans who came here had large, prosperous farms. Some of them are still here on the same land.

Thank you, Smiley. I like the idea of whole families together - those days, people didn't scatter around the country like they do, now.

I love old cemeteries, they have an atmosphere all of their own and reading the names and inscriptions really takes you through history.

Yes, I agree, and they are so peaceful. They make me curious, too. Thank you very much, Gudrun!
