I'd love to see inside. It's probably chock full of metal odds and ends, strange looking equipment, etc. I wonder why they needed the tall section and chute on the left.

It is odd, the dimensions look to be too tight to have been silo-based distribution point. I was going to make a pun about giraffes, but couldn't come up with anything that worked :)

Ooh, maybe you'll come up with something, Don! You know, that did not occur to me, that it originally could have been a silo! That would explain the chute - of course! It's a lot wider on two sides than this one facing. I have an older shot of it somewhere showing that and I'll look for it.

Just uploaded it and it looks exactly like a grain silo from that angle! AND, from the satellite image there is faint imprint of an old RR track running along this alley that I didn't see on the ground.
