Memories of Koblenz

The Rhein, cable-cars, castles and music all bring together very pleasant memories of this great town.

Colours of the Rhein

Bingen on the great River Rhein is a colourful place with wonderful views all around. Castles abound too but here we have some flavour of the heart of the place. With these vineyards and the river as a background this simple plant pot and flowers makes up truly welcome.

Thinking!

Seen near the church of 'Our Lady' in Koblenz, Germany. Not really one of my usual subjects but I could not resist after seeing this candid pose. Unfortunately the ladies name nor thoughts, I did not get!

Burg Katz from St Goar

The Rhein shows off one its iconic castles and also the advent of an early Autumn. Taken from the village of St Goar, about 26km south of Koblenz. The village shown here is opposite St Goar and is called St Goarhausen.

The Rhein from Loreleyblick

The rock of The Loreley (Lorelei) is seen here across the river at bottom right. To the left is the Loreley campsite with Burg Katz and its attending village of St Goarhausen just below the castle at the top end of this scene, across the river again.

Burg Pfalzgrafenstein

A beautiful little castle mid-stream of the river Rhein. Maybe the weather could have been better for this snap but one has to work with what one gets.

Loreley

The siren, Loreley (Lorelei), said to lure sailors on the very narrowest section of the Rhein onto the rocks is seen here sitting at the end of the spit of land on this part of the river called The Loreley. A rather seductive view here but modesty forbade me to shoot from other angles :) Enjoy
