Salt Pans of South Africa

Salt Pans of South Africa
Seen on the Swartkops Estuary, just off the coast, near Port Elizabeth in South Africa there is quite an industry collecting and producing salt. Here we see some of the patterns created by these salt pans. Not a soul in sight though.

Taken on my big Asian/Africa cruise of 2014.
Enjoy full screen

Always a good photo subject my friend. I once stayed not far from a large area of salt pans in France, where I took a few shots too, but alas, in the days of my colour film only so not much in the way of records for that. Not seen them in the Canaries but I am not surprised.

Cheers, Herb

Looks so incredibly different than "our" salt mines in Maras, Cuzco...
