A great find Ronald.............these are Auricularia auricula-judae, which used to be called Jew's Ear Fungus (before people knew better). In the UK we now call it Jelly Ear Fungus (in the USA it's called Wood Ear Mushroom), the colours do vary a bit. See the link below.

They're amazing looking things and you've captured them very well.

Thanks for the info, Keith. I once took a class in Chinese cooking where we used wood ears, but I didn't know that's what these are.
