Thanks a lot! There're a few small bugs there: privacy settings are not correctly transferred. (have a look in my small post for details: www.ipernity.com/blog/c.schurig/11932)

It started great, but after importing something around 100 pics I suddenly get only white placeholders imported... it seems others have that problem too, could it be that the import script is getting blocked?

p.s.: great feature, and great that you implemented it so fast! :-)

limone replies:
oh I just realized I have to pay attention to the tiny little icons in the script menu - no icon, no import of this size possible. thank you! (edit: hmmm... but now I can only import medium sized images, means 500x375, even if the are available in 800x600 which most of my images are. when I started the import, I could import the 800x600 images, but it stopped somewhere in the middle.)

add.: only images uploaded after Feb 16 are affected, I can import older images.

Superbe initiative!!!

Inglewood Mum: On flickr just open the page of the photo you want to import. After the page has loaded you'll see some links below your photo:
Import this photo into your ipernity docstream
this size is : [different sizes]

Just choose the size you want to import from flickr and that's it. But be sure that there's an icon beside the link. There is a problem that you can only import the medium size from flickr if the pic was uploaded (on flickr) at least after Feb 28.

Doppeltbelichtet says:
Hi everyone- I just switched over from flickr...was fed up already by paying a pro account for getting censored.
The prob is, I tried Inglewood Mums' description- and failed to find the link below my pics to import.
If there are other germans already here, "BITTE HELFT MIR!- DANKE :-)"
You could also just write another english explanation, it might even give me a clue what went wrong the first time trying... *;-)*

Great but sad 2 see all the dear flickrites strand on this fab photo- platform....

I just worked it out :-) This is one fantastic place to join- and I can hardly wait transferring all my flickr pics to ipernity!
Have a nice day and thanks for putting so much effort into translating the page- my french isn't that bad but a bit rusty, though...

Fred (also on http://flickr.com/freeed)pro says:
Awesome! I tried it out and je me suis bien amusé! It works most flawlessly and it's quick too. This won't do for a lot of pictures as it takes a long time (and my complete flickr stream would kill my upload limit here anyway) but for the valuable ones this is a great idea.

It's a nice gimmik, but it is far away from being perfect. :-(

After importing some pictures, I have to notice, that
1- the timestamps have been ignored.
2- the geo tags have been imported, but this informations have not been used for georeferencing.
3- the permission for tagging have not been imported.
4- the licence information have not been imported.

If the information for #3 and #4 cannot be retrived, then the system should use my default here at ipernity. But the defaults have also been ignored.

Not a satisfying way for an easy move of my picture from Flickr to ipernity. :-(

For ipernity to become a full replacement for flickr, I would need two other tools (software):
1. a plug-in for iPhoto to export directly into ipernity
2. a Dashboard widget for tagged slideshow viewing inside dashboard
yes, I am a Mac OS X user and happy about it...

ca serait bien mieux si le script pouvait importer le HTML et en particulier les liens dans la description des photos!

John Greypro says:
I tried transferring my Flickr photos but ran into my upload limit with about 130 out of 450 to go. Then had the problem that it was difficult to identify those that had not transferred as the order of photos in ipernity was rather random - so I decided to delete my stuff and start again. I did see somewhere that pro users might get an extra allowance to transfer stuff from flickr - I've sent a mesage to support - so I hope this is true, otherwise i am stuck until August : (

Loupiote (Old Skool) says:
import script does not work with photos taken with Sony Alpha camera: photo description is not imported from Flickr.

instead, the text "SONY DSC" appears. presumably due to some EXIF metadata generated by the Sony Alpha and incorrectly interpreted by the import script.

an example of photos that cannot be imported correctly is here: flickr.com/photos/loupiote/856239663/

Hi there.
I have installed the uploader and when I go to Flickr i get the following pop up screen:
Call to Flickr API Fail
I also added the one by one uploader which works.

What do I need to do to make the mass uploader work?

Thanks

Yeah, I can't get it to work, either, not that it matters now since I migrated them all manually, all 633 of them.
