Sowas!

Ich sitze freidlich am Sonntag früh in meinem Lesesessel, als plötzlich ein Eichhörnchen vom benachbarten Baum auf das Geländer vor dem Fenster springt (beachtliche Leistung!),

das Geländer herunter turnt (immerhin habe ich inzwischen meine Kamera parat...),

um dann noch einmal vom Sims aus direkt zu mir hinein zu schauen

und sich dann mit einem Satz auf den Baum wieder zu verabschieden

(der fand Sprung selbst leider in einer ungünstigen Ecke statt :-((

Im Alsterpavillon gefrühstückt - wie ein Tourist. Noch nie gemacht...
Es war erstaunlich leer und wunderbar ruhig vor dem Ansturm.

Und Hamburg genossen an so einem tollen Morgen!

Then up to St. Pauli and to Jungfernstieg
Took my breakfast there (usually a very crowded place) - never have done this before
It has been rather empty and quiet - astonishing! Before the rush.

Have inhaled my city on such a bright morning!

 

 

Gerade eingetroffen - meine neue K20D - nun bin ich mal wirklich gespannt....

Just arrived - my brand new Pentax K20D - I am a bit exited...

 

Just startetd to try out the first pictures - especially the ones on a dark surrounding...

Looks like a good step better than the old K10D....

Golden Tube

Since 5th of November I am travelling through Argentina again - 2 Years before, have been to Buenos Aires and Uruguay. This time Buenos Aires again will be the starting and ending point of the journey.

 

 

After two nights in Palermo - one of the most lively and charming areas of BA - we took the flight to Patagonias glacier city El Calafate - a Tourist town in the midlle of nowhere, but rather busy and full of hiking people or just visitors to the glaciers.

 

 

 

 

I have to excuse: But though even there has been good internet access in almost every hotel etc. in argentina - I didn´t find the time or a free USB port to review the pictures etc. - so I decided to do the work after coming back. This is the reason, why ther have not been more pictures from Argentina before - but now they are there in a special album

I have been quite curious, when I first found some pictures of this "little monster" - but could not stop myself from looking, where I could buy it - especially after I found out that there is a version for my PENTAX K mount...

So I ordererd one an when today the small package arrived, I shurely tried it out immediately - which has been a real new way of taking photos to me:

3-dimensional manual focusing is not that common and neither is the manual change of the magnetic aperture rings...

But the results are - at least interesting - if not to say exciting...

I am living almost right in the city centre of Hamburg - but even here, sometimes life can be like in a very small town. Not only because of the "village"- character of this neighborhood, but even as there are quite a lot of trees, parks and the Alster lake near by...

This morning - on a "golden October"- day, I happend to see this little squirrel sitting at the foot of the tree right in front of the house, I am living in. First I thought "whoever has left his stuffed animal here..."

I have not been lucky enough to react immediately and get the camera ready, before it could move. But it rested on the tree and posed rather nicely for my photo:

What a nice start of a "golden October" day in Hamburg.

Nachdem gestern mein neues "Extremtele"-Fernrohr-Objektiv von Walimex mit 650-1300mm eingetroffen ist - hier mal ein paar erste Versuche: Bei guten Lichtverhältnissen lassen sich mit dem relativ günstigen Stück brauchbare, wenn auch keine überragenden Bilder machen...

Das Hauptproblem ist die stabile Befestigung: Mein Stativ kommt mit dem Gewicht von 2 kg plus hinten hängender Kamera noch nicht optimal zurecht... die Einstellung ist recht aufwändig. Wahrscheinlich muss ich da noch einmal in einen anderen Objekttivkopf investieren, bei dem sich das objektiv weniger auf dem Kopf verdrehen kann und eine einfachere Mikro-Einstellung möglich ist....

Some impressions from a short walk at the beginning of the night

 

After a while I took the time to experiment in the studio a little: First with light and flowers only - even that took quite a lot of time. But hopefully it will be the beginning of a new "series" of "installed pictures...

 

 

 

and on it goes...

Am Wochenende nach langer Zeit endlich mal wieder Muße gefunden, im Studio ein wenig zu experimentieren: Ersmal nur mit Licht und Blumen, was seine liebe Zeit gebraucht hat. Aber hoffentlich nur als Anfang einer neuen "Serie"...

Am letzten Donnerstag fand auf dem Hansaplatz in Hamburg St. Georg erstmals (?) eine kulturelle Veranstaltung statt - mit gutem Erfolg: An einem schönen Sommerabend war der Platz bevölkert von Literaturbegeisterten Hamburgern, die sich unter dem plätschernden Brunnen eine Lesung anhörten - jeder Liegestuhl war belegt.

Das Abendblatt dazu: "Donnerstag: Lauschen auf dem Hansaplatz
Mit "Geschichten, die das Leben schrieb" wird Schauspielerin Maria Pollok am
Donnerstagabend auf dem Hansaplatz Teile ihres Soloprogramms "Es ist so, wie
es ist..." performen. In Ihrer dynamischen Lesung treffen Tucholsky, Busch
und Böll auf Texte aus eigener Feder. Eröffnet wird der Leseabend von den
beiden "Writer's Room"-Autoren Daniel Bielenstein und Irena Stojanova. Beide
gehören zum "Poets on the beach"-Ensemble, das regelmäßig Lesungen an der
Elbe veranstaltet."

After a long time to wait, yesterday my new Pentax hypersonic focus telefoto lens (DA 50-135 2.8 ED [IF] SDM) arrived...

First impression: simply great in terms of "almost no sound" while focusing, great colour representation and the - for PE new fast aperture .... I am a little bit exited for seeing it in full use during the next days..

Ein Abend, wie er schlimmer kaum starten kann: Strömender Regen und - für den Juni - eisige Kälte. Die Veranstalterin berichtet, dass schon die Gerneralprobe gestern ins Wasser gefallen war. Man wolle aber heute doch spielen - um die ganze Vorbereitung nicht umsonst gewesen sein zu lassen. Vielleicht bringe es ja Glück!

Und dann das: Eine gelungene Aufführung in der spannenden Containerwelt mitten in der - sich nach Ladenschluss immer mehr leerenden Spitalerstrasse. Mitten im regen startet die Musik, und nachdem am anfang wohl fast nur eine kleine Schar Anhgehöriger und Freunde zuschauten, sammen sich zunehmend mehr Menschen.

 

Das Tanz- Gesangs- und auch Lichtspektakel mit der interessanten Bühne aus 9 Containern

Den Darstellern - auch auch den Fotografen - kann man nur wünschen, dass die nächsten Aufführungen ohne Regen auskommen - dann wird das Ganze zum wahren Sommer-Theater-Genuss mitten in der Stadt.
