A group to display photos of mainly historical buildings which were created up to and including the 20th century.
It would be appreciated if photos here could be accompanied by a short description giving location and a little history if known.
Also please do not submit images of 21st century glass towers as they would not be appropriate to this group's theme.

Photos from Down Under, which relate to Australia, pls don't post pictures of private events, which have no immediate relation to Australia. Please add the location in your description.
If you post pictures of animals and/or plants pls be aware that there are groups for pets, this means no kitty cat pictures on this group.
If you administer a group which is also related to Australia, please let me know, because I will add the link to this page, so that we have a complete list of specialized…
Dedicated to boathouses and boatsheds from all countries, whether they be ornamental, for pleasure, for rowing and canoe clubs, for lifeboats or built for working boats.
Exteriors, interiors and historical shots are all welcome. We're aiming for a collection of interesting buildings, both grand and humble, from all over the world.
Please note this group is for buildings that house boats, not houseboats!
Some bridges are solid, imposing forms and some are extremely graceful. Some are concrete, some wooden, some are made out of bricks, some of stone and some are made of iron or steel. But they have all been built to cross something.
Any kind of bridges are welcome here - bridges for motor vehicles, pedestrian bridges, train viaducts and aqueducts. It's your choice which you prefer to post.
Please post only photos in which the bridge is the main subject and strictly dominates the photo (prefera…
This group is dedicated to buildings, old,or new. The building should take up most of the photo, i.e. no special architectural details (https://www.ipernity.com/group/2301602). Religious buildings do not belong in this group. They have their own group :
(https://www.ipernity.com/group/491523) . However, if this type of building appears in a group of buildings, it must not be the subject of the photo.
NO PEOPLE OR ANIMALS IN SHOTS IN THIS GROUP, PLEASE.
A place to celebrate and record, with quality shots, essential British architecture and engineering. If you'd like to submit images and join, give me a shout.
It's the building or structure that's the point, so 'inhabited' photos are removed.
I have set this group up to showcase the colour and diversity of Butterflies found all over Britain and Europe. From the common to the very rare, all are very welcome.
Please post only high quality images, with clear focus and unobstructed views.
There is a limit of 5 images per day, otherwise no formal rules apply.
