Gojal, Hunza. Far North Pakistan at altitude among the 6-7000 meter peaks of the jagged Karakoram Range. These are the pinnacles of the Passu Cathedrals, or Tupopdan in local Wakhi language.
Just arrived home after 6+ weeks in very remote, sparsely populated, and stunning high altitude landscapes, mostly adjacent to the border with Afghanistan.
Wishing everyone a top Friday and a fab weekend. Will try to get to visiting soon!

Far North Pakistan, in the Pamirs. One of the many breathtakingly beautiful valleys in these remote regions. It is very sparsely populated as the land is quite daunting in a zone of frequent seismic activity, landslides and rockfalls, which is also under heavy snow and cut off for much of the year.
I am off there again in 10 days time to explore some remote valleys bordering Afghanistan among other things.
Have a lovely weekend.

Near Passu in Gojal, far North Pakistan, where a rail/ fence on LHS is a safely feature. The 7000m Passu Cathedrals form a dramatic backdrop over the Hunza River valley in this breathtakingly beautiful area.
Have a fab Friday and a safe and happy weekend.

From Shimshal, at 3500 meters in the high Pamir mountains up near the Pakistan border with China. The thrifty subsistence farmers here use every scrap of precious wood to be found…for heating and cooking..,and for gates! Trees are scarce at this altitude
Thanks for any welcome visits and comments, which are truly appreciated. Enjoy your Friday, and may the weekend be full of photographic treasures!
