In the summer the creek becomes very dry and the falls trickle down to nothing, but when full they are quite impressive.

A 90 foot high falls on Black Creek in Gadsden, Alabama that can go from virtually dry in the hot summer time to a raging torrent after a very high rainfall such as happened this past weekend when tropical storm Lee passed through (top photo). The rain gauge at my house which is about 8 miles from the falls registered just shy of nine inches.
