The diamond-shaped sign, one of four - two on each bank, indicates “S.E.E.B 33,000 VOLTS ELECTRICITY CABLE” - under the river. The trouble with DMUs & EMUs, like this one, is that you don't get a sense of the direction in which it is travelling. In this case it's right to left, if you don't know the area. This was a very mixed flock of birds - mainly Black-backed and Herring Gulls, with Magpies and Rooks wandering in and out. The Shelduck were nearer Friston Forest. The Curlews are not visible at all in this shot and are not very distinct in a closer shot of this group, but I have seen them here this year for the first time. However this is more about how the valley looks at this time of year. There were sizeable numbers of Canada Geese out of shot to the left.
