Great Hall

The exterior walls are a distinctive colour, rendered in Royal Gold harling, as they would have been in the 1500s. This colour was uncovered during renovation work in 1999.

An unexpected find! Commissioned by William Drummond around 1863 and built in the same year by a well-known local stone mason and sculpture, William Barclay. It is also known as the Martyrs Monument and occasionally as Salem Rock (source: Britain Explorer website )

Broad Street

In Stirling's old town, heading down the hill from the castle. This is where a weekly market used to be held. Obviously, the bins and satellite dishes don't exactly enhance the scene, but there's no airbrushing here.

Checking the map, these would seem to be the Menteith Hills. Loch Lomond is beyond, at the southern end.
