It's starting to fill up the areas underneath the lilac trees - the bluebells and other wild plants make it look just like a mini-forest

Primulas are also now getting in on the act.

This is the first time I've seen dark red primulas on my driveway. They are so pretty.

This is the first cherry blossom

24 Mar 2019 160
I noticed that there are lots of trees around my garden that have the beginnings of blossom - I found this blossom starting up. So beautiful - I don't see this one very often, as it's behind a few other trees.

Catkins already out

I do love these little things - I remember running around with them when I was a child shaking them like cats' tails

Blossom

I love it when the blossom is in amongst the branches like this. It gives more contrast

Such a beautiful bush. The flowers are so exact and curled. Tight buds just like roses, but this gorgeous bright yellow.

Some forsythia

I am surprised to see forsythia on my drive - it's blown over from either my front garden or someone elses. Should be lovely when it gets thicker

Gorgeous damson cherry blossom

24 Mar 2019 159
This blossom is so pretty - the damson tree is really becoming big now - if I have a big glut of damsons this year - I'll give them away to a friend who makes jam.

Doesn't it look gorgeous against the blue sky

What a beautiful blossom. The white blossom is just super against the blue sky.

Yet more beautiful blossom

The flowers are so complicated - long stamens with blobs (great technical term!) on the ends

There was so many primrose plants on the drive

Such a glut of primroses this year - everywhere I looked there were clumps of primroses, not only lining the drive but also in the central aisle

Whenever I see primroses I already know that Spring and warmer weather is well on its way.

Grape hyacinths

There seems to be a lot of grape hyacinths lately on my driveway - at first I only noticed about 4 plants about 2 years ago - now when I looked I saw lots of them

Neighbours' gorgeous gorse bush

I know they grow all over moorland and fields/hedgerows but it's extra beautiful when you see them in a garden, cared for and tended. The flowers are just amazing

So beautiful flowers

They look healthy - methinks its because we had warm weather when they were just starting out and then we had loads of rain - now the sun has come out and they are just flourishing

Looking up the driveway

Looking up the driveway - there are still loads of primrose plants still to bloom, bluebells yet to come out, and other flowers I don't know what they are.

The flowers look so pretty against the fence panels.

The bluebells are starting to flower on the drive - at long last I can see colour as well as green leaves
