Fall Tree 1981
| 28 Oct 2022 |
|
I took the shot of my annual Fall tree a little late this year, but you can see what the shape of the tree was back when I started shooting it. At that point in time, I didn't realize that I would end up shooting it this time of year into another century.

The French Alps

I bought some old slides in a Kodak carousel slide tray off eBay and the slides were listed inside the box as "Vacation 1970 - Athens to Congo." This one was taken somewhere in the French Alps. As seen in a comment below and thanks to another member here on Ipernity, this place is called "Aiguille Du Midi," which means "Needle Of The Midday."
It's kind of sad that I was able to buy these images because they should have been passed down to relatives. I assume the people who shot these vacation slides are probably dead by now, seeing as how it was 50 years ago. I noticed that the guy seemed to have been a pretty good photographer and the Kodak Kodachrome slides have held up excellently! They were probably Kodachrome 25. I thought they were too good to never be seen by anybody again, so that's why I posted it.

This is a slide from an unknown couple's vacation in 1970 which I bought off eBay in a couple Kodak slide carousels. I'm pretty sure this one was taken in Germany. Another Kodak Kodachrome 25 slide that has held up well these 50 years. I thought some of these pictures were pretty interesting and to never be seen again would be a loss to society.

Another slide from an unknown couple's vacation in 1970. I'm pretty sure this one was taken in Germany. I'm also sure that this man took most of the vacation slides, with his wife taking a couple of him. She was pictured the most and her shots of him weren't as good as his shots of her. So, he must have been the photographer in the family. Another Kodak Kodachrome 25 slide that has held up well these 50 years. I thought some of these pictures were pretty interesting and to never be seen again would be a loss to humanity.
I did crop this image a little bit to make it more interesting.

I bought some old slides in a Kodak carousel slide tray off eBay and the slides were listed inside the box as "Vacation 1970 - Athens to Congo." I think this is the French Alps because the very next slide after this has a sign with the above-named mountain. It states it has an altitude of 3,842 m./12,602 ft.
It's kind of sad that I was able to buy these images because they should have been passed down to relatives. Another shot of my brother Matthew, taken at Christmas 1979. The other shot was on print film, this one is on slide film. When I was about this age, roughly 3 or so, I also got some toy fire fighters for Christmas.

Christmas Party Games
| 17 May 2020 |
|
This was the Harrelson side of my family all getting together for a Christmas party at our house. Remember the days when families used to do this at this scale? There was the five members of my immediate family, Dad's two brothers and sister and their spouses, plus their kids.
This picture shows one of the games we played that night. It was a kind of relay game where the women were pitted against the men and each person had to unwrap a dummy present, wrap it back up and then pass it on to the next person on your team to do the same. The first team that finished was the winner.
