On the Denali Highway
The Denali Highway, which opened in 1957, was the first road to access Denali National Park. It is 135 miles long, of which only approximately 24 miles are paved and the remaining 111 miles are gravel. The scenery along its course is spectacular and well worth the bumpy ride.

The only problem is that we were heading to St. Paul de Vence. We made it, though.

Albany Bridge

This covered bridge crosses the Swift River along side the Kancamagus highway in Albany, New Hampshire. It was contructed in 1858 to replace a bridge that had been built a year earlier but which had been destroyed in a windstorm. The U.S. Forest Service replaced the wooden floor timbers with steel in 1981-1982.
