Friday 10 May 1996 (approx 2215) Cambridge Coach Services Limited 397 (G97 RGG) seen at Corley Service area bound for Dublin, Ireland on a ‘Classic Day Tour’ from the Cambridge area. CCS regularly ran tours of this type which involved night travel overnight Friday night to the destination and travelling back home overnight Saturday night thus giving something like 10 hours at the destination. The coach, a Plaxton Paramount 3500 bodied Volvo B10M, was new to Park’s of Hamilton in 1990.

Cambridge Coach Services Limited 397 (G97 RGG), seen on the vehicle deck of the ‘Stena Explorer’ HSS twin hulled ferry when working a ‘Classic Day Tour’ to Dublin, Ireland. CCS regularly ran tours of this type which involved night travel overnight Friday night to the destination and travelling back home overnight Saturday night thus giving something like 10 hours at the destination. The coach, a Plaxton Paramount 3500 bodied Volvo B10M, was new to Park’s of Hamilton in 1990. Driver Mike Dockerill is standing behind the man wearing the green baseball cap. The latter had once been a bus driver in Alaska, USA.

Monday 10 July 1995 (approx 0900 hrs) - Cambridge Coach Services Plaxton bodied Volvo B10M’s at Drummer Street, Cambridge. 307 (M307 BAV), a 1995 Plaxton Premiere 350 model, pulls out on a service to Heathrow and Gatwick as 321 (F421 DUG), a Plaxton Paramount 3200 new in 1988 to Wallace Arnold, loads on service 75 to Oxford. The latter has the lower driving position thus featuring the extra horizontal upper windscreen as fitted to the higher 3500 models.

Tuesday 19 April 1994 - Just a couple of minutes after 1700 hrs and two Plaxton Paramount bodied Volvo B10M coaches of Cambridge Coach Services move away from the express coach loading stands at Drummer Street, Cambridge. Leading was 363 (E363 NEG) working service 78 to Heathrow and Gatwick which was being followed by 324 (F425 DUG), a former Wallace Arnold coach, working service 75 to Oxford. Tucked between was Express Travel H843 AHS working National Express service 305 from Liverpool to Southend-on-Sea.

Sunday 15 July 1990 (approx 1400) – When Cambridge Coach Services was formed from part of Premier Travel, the CCS operating base was located was just off the A10 road at Waterbeach close Dickerson’s Aggregate Depot. This view of the site shows part of the admin and maintenance building. The five coaches are VAV 256X, WEB 409T, E363 NEG, D344 KVE and D343 KVE. Along the back some stored Leyland National buses of other AJS subsidiaries not used by CCS.

Wednesday 26 August 2015 (1239) – Parks of Hamilton HSK 643, an unlettered Plaxton Elite bodied Volvo B9R, seen at Ferrybridge Service Area in Yorkshire when operating the 0800 Edinburgh to London National Express service 591. This trip was additional to the daily 0945 departure but it only ran between 25 July and 27 August 2015. In addition to the capital cities the only other pick-up was Newcastle-upon-Tyne (1035-1045) and Ferrybridge saw a 45 minute refreshment stop. Arrival in London (Victoria Coach Station) was 1720.

Tuesday 24 September 1991 - Bruce's Coaches of Airdrie C650 KDS seen in the shadows of St. Pancras Station, London having worked the day south service of the 'alternative' Scottish Citylink service from Glasgow etc. Bruce's had operated a Scotland-London service prior to entering an operating partnership with Scottish Citylink whereupon the service offered a cheaper alternative to the mainstream Scottish Citylink services into London and which terminated at Pancras Road rather that Victoria Coach Station. The Caetano Algarve bodied Volvo B10M was new to Park's of Hamilton in March 1986. Despite only being five years old but looked somewhat older.
