Situé au cœur du Parc national des Cévennes, le Mont Aigoual est avec ses 1567m le point culminant du Gard. Il offre une vue panoramique sur les Cévennes et les Causses, et par temps clair sur les Alpes, le Mont Ventoux, la Méditerranée et les Pyrénées. L’observatoire est la dernière station Météo de montagne habitée en activité de France, Il est occupé jour et nuit par le personnel de Météo-France. 360° VIEWS OF A QUARTER OF FRANCE... Situated in the heart of the Cévennes National Park, Mont Aigoual is the highest point in the Gard department at 1567m. It offers panoramic views of the Cévennes and the Causses, and on a clear day, the Alps, Mont Ventoux, the Mediterranean and the Pyrenees. The observatory is the last active manned mountain weather station in France, and is manned day and night by Météo-France staff. EIN VIERTEL VON FRANKREICH IN 360°... Der Mont Aigoual liegt im Herzen des Nationalparks der Cevennen und ist mit seinen 1567 m der höchste Gipfel des Departements Gard. Er bietet einen Panoramablick auf die Cevennen und die Causses und an klaren Tagen auf die Alpen, den Mont Ventoux, das Mittelmeer und die Pyrenäen. Das Observatorium ist die letzte aktive, bewohnte Bergwetterstation in Frankreich und wird Tag und Nacht von Mitarbeitern des Wetterdienstes Météo-France besetzt.
