Das Käppele ist innen dringend renovierungsbedürftig und die Deutsche Stiftung Denkmalschutz wirbt für eine Renovierung Spenden ein. This Baroque marvel, which was built according to plans by Balthasar Neumann and completed in 1750, can be reached via 255 steps. After Neumann's death, Dominikus Ickelsheimer connected the chapel to the old town via an imposing staircase with fourteen Stations of the Cross. The inside of the Käppele is in urgent need of renovation and the German Foundation for Monument Protection is raising funds to renovate it. Im Blickpunkt steht das "Käppele", eine in Würzburg beliebte barocke Wallfahrtskirche, wo auch viele Hochzeiten stattfinden. Außerdem befinden sich nicht weit davon ein Restaurant und einige Ausflugslokale, so dass im Bereich um das Käppele an schönen Tagen ein starker Publikumsverkehr herrscht. The former monastery garden has since become a certified natural garden. Beim Spaziergehen überraschte uns heute ein kräftiger Schneesturm. Kurz vorher noch Sonnenschein und dann plötzliches Halbdunkel und kräftige Schneeschauer. Winter ist doch auch schön - oder? While walking today we got caught by a strong snowstorm. Shortly before there was sunshine and then sudden gloom and vigorous snow showers. Winter is beautiful nonetheless - right?
