Pelicans and their much smaller friends cruising on Wascana Lake, with haze from wildfires in the air.

Along most of Wascana Creek there is underbrush that makes it difficult to get down close to the water level. I found a clear spot that enabled me to capture images of three Mallards hanging out by the opposite side of the Creek.

A pair of ducks that had paddled very close to my vantage point on a walkway beside Wascana Lake, apparently more interested in finding breakfast than my presence.

I was standing on a walkway that runs under a bridge when I began photographing this pair of ducks. They surprised me by paddling closer and closer, giving me several opportunities with my telephoto lens. In this image the morning light illuminated their profiles.
