ScI[25] - North Carr

Not the best of images, but that is the sad state of the retired "North Carr Lightship" moored in Dundee. Built in 1932/3 and Scotland's only remaining lightship. On the National Historic Ships Register. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Carr_Lightship I am informed that after various problems, a new team are about to re-start the restoration. I do hope that happens and not the proposed scrapping mentioned in the news media. Wish them all the best, ship restoration is neither easy nor cheap !

The new lifeboat station at Stonehaven was officially opened on 6thSept2025, and the new station LB - an Atlantic85 {B-919} was also named "Jamie Hunter" at the same event, [The B-class arrived in 2019 so the ceremony was postponed by Covid precautions] rnli.org/news-and-media/2025/august/28/new-station-opening-and-boat-naming-ceremony-for-stonehaven-rnli en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stonehaven_Lifeboat_Station

ScI[25] - Triplets at Montrose [HFF]

The other one of these three Yellow and Black vessels is moored across the river. It's in the background of the Shannon image. They are "Offshore Supply Vessels" - I think they answer to Njord Viking, Loke Viking and over at the other bank is what I think is Balder Viking. The fence / crash barrier protects those parking at night from a long drop into the river. I'm standing on the quay just outside the lifeboat station ...

ScI[25] - almost clear skies & snow on the hills

17 Nov 2025 46
Heading up the A90 [?] we could see snow on some of the higher points of the Scottish landscape - these are probably the Fintry Hills, almost hidden behind the closer ridge. Sadly, I missed the better examples and the roadside trees didn't help ...

ScI[25] - Lunch {Cullen Skink} [HTT]

On our way up into Scotland, we needed some food. The place we stopped at, outside Forfar, had an interesting menu. This is Cullen Skink - smoked haddock soup - absolutely delicious, as was the cheese scone. {I haven't had any for years, and I'm going to look up the recipe when we get home}
