LNER 2459 - 4-wheel horsebox was built at Earlestown to Dia9 [LNER Design] in1954. Sold in 1965 to Manchester Ship Canal Co & modified as their "Cashier's Coach No.3" [ie Pay coach]. Bought & moved initially to Southport in 1983, moved over to Preston Docks 1999. Liveried as a Manchester Ship Canal brake van, representing the vehicles that would have been trundling around the docks in Gloucester and the Sharpness Canal. It is due to move elsewhere, in a few months. According to the Vintage Carriages Trust this is an ex-GWR Toad, DW35342; in Manchester Ship Canal livery, branded 'Ellesmere Port'. www.ws.vintagecarriagestrust.org/ws/WagonInfo.asp?Ref=10600 , (This was seen on the M56 heading west at 0715hrs on Friday 3rd March 2017)
