We stayed a night in Tumcumcari near this restaurant. We were in our motorhome, staying in what appeared to be a motel. (It turned out to be both a truly classic motel of the 1950's era, as well as a modern RV park!) The New Mexican food at this place was great. Typical of the state, the restaurant also had a "gift shop" full of indian crafts and artwork. I recently noticed that this sign qualifies as "googie architecture", a style that started in the LA area in the 1950's. (Notice that they ran out of letters for "SALAD BAR", and had to use inverted "U"s.) Image processed with GIMP.
