We've had the pleasure of seeing the "Big Boy" locomotives over the years. Some were in static display, such as 4012 shown here at the Steamtown facility in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Others were seen at other locations inside and outside. As we've noted several times, we have viewed the restored 4014 as it passed by on its various publicity runs in recent years. We've managed to see a number of the "Big Boy" steam locomotives. Our visit to Steamtown (Scranton, Pennsylvania) adds yet another, #4012. The locomotive is being maintained quite nicely. You can climb up into the cab, but there are barriers to prevent you from trying to start it up. Image processed with GIMP.
