Another classic fence (I don't include the wall in my fence definition, only the posts and wire). And another favourite tree.

Looks like somewhere else got a really heavy soaking! Algete, Madrid Province.

La Sierra de La Cabrera, western end near Valdemanco.

Near the town of Zarzalejo and not far from El Escorial. There are no major Roman roads or settlements near here and no record, apart from what you see, of this undoubtedly Roman road! A mystery. Some scholars surmise that it served mines in the mountains. I find I posted this shot a couple of years back too. Oh well - I'm doing this more and more often. I remember Pano used to advise us if we'd posted the same shot twice! Maybe something IMA could look at?

Granite rock window, Sierra de La Cabrera

I found another archive shot of Mushroom Rock.

Looking along the eastern ridge from the summit of El Cancho Gordo towards La Pico de La Miel at the end. The fun part is trying to stay as close to the crest top as possible. It is OK in this direction. Much harder going west from here but I have just about managed it on one occasion (only the top 20 feet or so of El Cancho Largo defeated me. It's just occurred to me that it's rather like Striding Edge, Helvellyn but 20 times as long!
