Group: World Photography Day - August 19

I'm sorry you don't feel you can make it work. The time frame is classic for World Photography Day. This year the intent is just to see what we can do on this special day, a day that gifted the world a photographic process that allowed many more people to get into photography.

A photo contribution for this year (2021) does not have to be your best work. What you describe is the same for many. It is hard to produce with a time constraint of a single day.

Instead we're hoping to simply have a sense of community by knowing that everyone is photographing on the same day. I, for one, will be fascinated to see what people come up with.

Instead of trying to produce art, another direction might be to photgraph the place in ones house where one works and/or displays ones photography. Or photograph one or more of your cameras.

So one can share anything that connects you to photography, be it ones creation of art, or a process, or even something that represents ones emotional connection to photography.

All that said, we are happy to talk about doing a different set up for next year. But let's start that discussion after this year's event is over, maybe the beginning of November.

We don't know what's going on with Sami. He last posted something on 31 May 2021. Maybe he's just taking a break and enjoying the Finnish summer.

I have heard from Sami - he is spending a lot more time with family and less with photography.

I don't think it should be about showing what a wonderful photographer you are but a glimpse of your world on the day even the most mundane if you describe a link to the day

Exactly Peter, that’s how I saw it i went about my day took some photos and picked one that I could add a short description of why I took it,

This is how I saw it as well mine was taken as the rains bucketed down out side the patio. I shared an image very very few in the world would see let alone people who live in Western Australia but I gave the story of the small plant.
